A close working relationship with Australian sister organisation, The Meningitis Centre, has proven invaluable in supporting the establishment of The Meningitis Foundation in New Zealand. The Foundation’s Board expresses sincere thanks for the sharing of information, resources and contacts towards their endeavours, and looks forward to further developing their association and support network to strengthen a shared vision and mission in the fight against meningitis.
The Meningitis Foundation Aotearoa New Zealand is also an active member of the global Confederation of Meningitis Organisations (CoMO) sharing knowledge and resources towards achieving the collective mission to fight meningitis and support survivors.
CoMO currently has 42 members in 27 countries, and is organised on a regional basis – The Americas, Europe/Africa and Asia Pacific, making members globally united and regionally enabled in the fight against meningitis and septicaemia.
CoMO is dedicated to:
Eliminating meningitis globally by ensuring families worldwide have access to urgent diagnosis, preventative measures and speedy treatment
Uniting patient groups and child health organisations across the world who are wokring to eliminate meningitis in their country and region and who provide support to those touched by the disease
Raising the global profile of meningitis, facilitating resouce and knowledge sharing between member organisations, and helping to establish patient groups in countries where they do not exist.
