Submission to the petitions committee

Members of the Meningitis Foundation appeared before the Health Select Committee on 26 October 2022 urging MPs to support our call for free meningococcal vaccines (both the ACW&Y vaccine and the B vaccine) for all young people before they leave secondary school.

Claire and Gerard Rushton, and Helen and Pete Rowlands represented all New Zealand families affected by meningococcal disease and meningitis, and the kaupapa we stand for. The presentation received strong engagement and we are committed to building on this momentum.

We are another step closer to our goal of protecting ALL our rangatahi from preventable forms of meningococcal disease via a government funded vaccination programme.
